Zoho Creator Page: Toggle On/Off Switch: Hide/Display a Div
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 20170
So this is an article documenting how to create an on/off toggle switch that hides and displays between 2 div layers in a Zoho Creator Page (so not a form or report but a page).
Why?
This is written at a time when Javascript or interactive pages that change on the fly based on a mouse event in Zoho Creator automatically get removed on Save/Update of the page. The following uses the built-in functionality of Zoho Creator and could be seen as a 'Pure CSS' feature. I'm aiming to make a list of capabilities that can be done without loading another framework considering that Zoho Creator has their own version of Bootstrap and jQuery. This is the first example I have where you would want dynamic content in a Zoho Creator page without the use of JavaScript or 'Widgets JS'.
How?
Here are some screenshots to preview what the code below will do, simply copy the code and paste into a Zoho Creator Page.
Zoho Deluge: Setup an API Connection for InvokeURL
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 37577
This is slightly different to my article Zoho Deluge: Get Refresh/Access Token API v2 (Zoho to Zoho service) and different to my Zoho CRM: APIv2 using PHP & cURL (3rd-Party to Zoho), in that this details how to setup a connection to use in an invoke URL statement. Specifically for Zoho Books, Subscriptions or Inventory.
Why?
Setting up a connection avoids the hassle of having to generate access/refresh tokens using OAuth2.0. Usually used with an invokeUrl:
response = invokeUrl [ url: "https://books.zoho.com/api/v3/estimates?organization_id=12346789" type: GET connection: "joelconnector" ];
How?
So in the following example, we are going to setup a connection in Zoho Books on an EU datacenter:
- First determine what datacenter your client is using
- Register the App
- Setup the Connector
Zoho Deluge - Get distance between two coordinates
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 12753
A quick article to document how to calculate the distance "as the crow files" between two coordinates given the latitude and longitude of each.
Why?
Well, you can pay for a good Google solution that will distance following roads and the such but.. the following is free albeit as-the-crow flies.
This makes use of an undocumented function in Zoho which is acos or inverse cosine. Just lifted from the JavaScript library figuring if it supports cos() then try this standard function. Note this has only been tested in Zoho Creator rather than Zoho CRM.
How?
This function returns the distance as the crow flies.
Zoho Deluge: Convert Xero Date (Unix Timestamp) to Standard Date String
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 48444
So this is a super quick note that I'll probably remember anyway but just in case, I'm writing this article so I don't spend time researching it later.
Why?
I'm synchronizing Xero Invoices with Zoho CRM Invoices and noticed that Xero stores its dates in Unix Timestamps.
How?
We're going to filter out the unix seconds from the date provided by Xero then apply a toTime() function to it.
Zoho Deluge: Push Multi-Select Picklist containing Commas from CRM to Creator
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 22414
A very quick article on how to push a multi-select picklist from CRM to Creator.
Why?
We're trying to create a record in Creator off a button on the CRM Potential/Deal record. The CRM module has a multi-select picklist which will use commas to delimit but one of the options has a comma in its value.
// What I have in CRM: {"My_MultiPicklist":["Option1","Options 2, 3"]} // What Creator understands: FAILS {"My_MultiPicklist":["["Option1","Options 2, 3"]"]}With workaround .toString()
// What Creator understands: FAILS {"My_MultiPicklist":["Option1","Options 2"," 3"]}
How?
So the way to push this value over to Creator is by converting the list to a string... notably comma delimited:
Zoho CRM/Creator - Common Errors & Gotchas
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 25612
A quick article on how to debug some errors in Zoho.
Why?
I wanted a general note to list certain errors that we get when we do certain things in Zoho but didn't want to write a separate page for each minor issue.
How?
So I'm going to try and list solutions to minor errors we run into.
Zoho Deluge: Duplicate/Clone a Record
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 27839
This is an article with the snippet of code required to duplicate or clone a record in Zoho CRM using Zoho Deluge.
Why?
The aim here is to have a scheduled task that on the 1st of every month, takes the invoices for the month before, and duplicates each one for the new month.
How?
First you have to get all the applicable fields from the settings API.
Zoho Deluge - Compare time and currenttime with timezone
- Category: Zoho
- Hits: 17762
This is a quick article to demonstrate how to compare two datetime values with the timezone specified.
Why?
A client's ZohoCRM had a different timezone setting than the user a script would be run as. The time difference was just one hour but this caused problems if comparing two datetime values. In this particular case, we needed to check on the expiry of an access token used in OAuth2.0 for an API.
How?
All with deluge but we will split the date and time value obtained from a CRM field and compare it to the current time combined with a timezone. In this particular case, we will switch the current time to Europe/London (You can use an abbreviation such as GMT but this doesn't seem to check if daylight savings is in effect):
